Which exam version should I study?

USCIS replaced the 2008 civics test with a 2025 version. Which one applies to you depends on when you filed, so check your notice if you are not sure. The app has both, and keeps your progress separately for each, so switching between them never overwrites anything.

Is the app in Spanish?

Yes. Change it in Settings › Language. The interface is fully translated. Question coverage is shown per exam version on that same screen, and any question not yet translated stays in English rather than going blank.

How do I reset my progress?

Settings › Reset progress. It clears points, solved lessons, and mastery for the exam version you are currently on. The other version keeps everything. This cannot be undone.

Why am I seeing ads?

The app is free, and the ads are what pay for it. There is no paid tier. Ads appear between the end of a run and the screen that scores it, so they never interrupt a question.

How do I change my ad preferences?

In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, go to Settings › Ads › Manage ad choices to reopen Google's consent form. On iOS anywhere, you can change tracking permission in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. Turning either off does not restrict any part of the app.

Is my progress backed up?

No. It lives only on your phone, which is also why nothing about you is ever sent anywhere. Deleting the app deletes your progress with it.

Is this an official USCIS app?

No. It is an independent study aid, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or funded by USCIS or the United States government. The questions come from USCIS's own published civics materials, which are in the public domain.
